Choosing Your Engagement Session Location

Choosing your engagement session location can be very meaningful to you or just simply reflect the essence of your relationship. We always encourage a location that either represents your style as a couple or that means something to you.

If you love the outdoors and want a natural setting - then perfect. If you want a chic session with beautiful architecture and that represents you as a couple then do what you're comfortable with.

Check out these quick tips for choosing an engagement session location below

Choose a location that is cohesive with your style as a couple

If one of you always stress up, and the other is found in gym, shorts and a t-shirt, find a midway point for your engagement session to accommodate both of you. Don't dress out of your comfort zone just for the photos, because we want you to be your genuine selves!

Make It Stand Out

If you want to have extravagant photos in botanical gardens or on the mountain top - then by all means that is encouraged. If you are an outdoorsy couple, then a natural setting would work great. If you are on the more dazzling-side, you can dress up to match your luxurious location. I just LOVE me a gorgeous flowing dress for engagement sessions - they are my favorite:)

Make It Meaningful

Make your engagement session personal by choosing a location where you first met, or enjoy hanging out on your weekends. Not everyone has a meaningful location and that's ok! Some couples enjoy the outdoors, old architecture, or an urban scene. Don't be afraid to ask to hold your session at the first bar or location you met, It makes it unique and special to you both.

Consider the Season

If you are wanting to take photos in the outdoor setting with beautiful foilage, be sure to consider the time of year. To get that beautiful Spring blooms and flowers as a backdrop, we suggest March to April. For beautiful fall photos you might have a better chance during Mid-October until Early November. If you don't mind what season it is, beautiful botanical gardens or beaches are the perfect backdrop for natural settings.

Leave it to the Pros!

Unsure of where you want to have your session? NO WORRIES! We have plenty of couples that count us to make them look good in our suggested locations! We discuss your style in your consultation to ensure we match your style with the location as best as possible!

Your engagement photos will be the debut of you and your fiancé to your family and friends. They'll be used for your Save-the-Dates, wedding website and displayed in frames on your wedding day - so we want to make sure you love them! Choose a location that speaks for you both and reflects your style as a couple.

We can't wait to capture your own unique engagement session!
